Promises for the New Year

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

I ran across an article the other day, in which the author was particularly excited about some Chinese fortunes they had acquired. They went to the trouble of saving them and framing them, putting much hope and expectation into what they promised.

I thought about how blessed we are to have the promises of God's Word to get us through the difficult passages of life - and how glad I am that I don't have to rely on the luck of a fortune cookie to tell me what my future holds.

I'm sure glad WE don't put all our trust in a cookie! Sounds silly doesn't it? Thanks for sharing today!

I wonder do they make fortune cookies with bible verses in them? hmmmm Some one should.

I'm so glad my fortune is in the Lord.

Blessings.

Amen! I love that verse. So glad I don't have to rely on Chinese fortune cookies either...the last one I got said, "You laugh now, wait until you get home." I was kinda scared to go there, LOL! Happy WFW!

hey to answer joan's question, yes i've seen bible verse fortune cookies.. special order lol

it's amazing what people rely in, instead of God's promises, isn't it?

Perfect timing. My children asked me today what a "fortune cookie" is. It's not as easy to describe as you might think. So now they've seen your WFW and it is so much clearer. Thank you. And more importantly...the lesson of it!
Beautifully said.
